| I WILL BE GOING TO COURT SHORTLY FOR CHILD SUPPORT WITH MY EX. WE DIVORCED IN 2005, HE REMARRIED IN 2005. HIS CURRENT WIFE WORKS, THEY HAVE A NEW HOUSE AND NEW CAR. HE CONSTANTLY SAYS THAT HE ISN'T WORKING AND DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING. HE IS KNOWN FOR BEING A HUSTLER AND THIS IS HOW HE MAKES A LIVING. HE HAD A TOW TRUCK, BUT I THINK HE RECENTLY SOLD IT, JUST SO WHEN WE GO TO COURT HE CAN TELL THE JUDGE THAT HE ISN'T WORKING AND CANNOT PAY SUPPORT. IF HIS WIFE THE SOLE INCOME PROVIDER IN THEIR HOME CAN SHE BE ORDERED TO PAY ON HIS BEHALF? SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME ANSWERS SO I CAN KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN I GO TO COURT. |

Hi Channie
The wife is not responsible for making payments. The father is the one who would have to pay child support. You can apply for child support in the state that you are in and the state will enforce child support. The state can suspend his drivers license, and even put him in jail. While he is in jail he is still responsible for making payments. If you have his information like his Social Security numer, address, and place of imployment you can place him on child support. |
